A letter to our patients

5-300x111

Dear Patients,

Nine months have come and gone since hurricane Sandy decimated our area taking away many of our homes and businesses. Many of you have suffered beyond words with the loss or severe damage of your homes.  As you all know our dental home has been sitting dormant awaiting its fate since that time.

Due to the tireless work of our exceptional staff, our families, and a great dental equipment technician, we remediated the damage at Water Street and moved any salvageable equipment and supplies to Lakehurst Road and were up and running in less than two weeks. However, from the time we opened back up not a day goes by that we aren’t asked when we’re going back to the river.

This wait has been painful in many ways.  It was necessitated by an ongoing lack of support from our flood insurance company, FEMA and of course the uncertainty about the final flood maps. Many difficult decisions have had to have been made:  Do we go back? If so, do we lift our building or tear it down? And of course, how do we pay for it? Our decision, after careful consultation with our rebuilding professionals, is to lift our building up approximately 4-5 feet and bring it back from the dead! The whole interior and much of the exterior will be redone and it will be even more beautiful and comfortable than before.

It’s become very evident how important our location was to all of our patients and our staff.  It’s been because of all your support, and the support and encouragement of my staff and Dr. Rella, that we will soon be putting the shovel in the ground and finally beginning this exciting project.

On behalf of Dr. Rella, my family and staff, I need to thank you all for your concern and patience during this difficult time. We will be back (maybe as early as the end of the year) and anticipate being able to serve you even better.  We also want to thank you for sending your friends and family to us.  We rely on your ongoing referrals to continue the high quality and service of our practice. We will update you on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RiverfrontDentalCare and our Webpage:  www.riverfrontdentists.com, as to the progress of our reconstruction.  If you have any questions, or are ready for your next appointment, please call us at 732-349-1295.  We are moving towards the next “normal” and we appreciate seeing and helping our patients in this journey.

Finally, to those of you who are still suffering from the devastation of Sandy, our hearts go out to you and wish you all the best.

Sincerely,

David Stein, DMD
